HoundID was imagined from the same place as any great tech solution: a brilliant Engineer at the end of his tether.
A Microsoft specialist sick and tired of creating and removing user accounts, a solution was needed to address this Engineer’s frustrations, which boiled down to 3 firm beliefs:
Onboarding shouldn’t be complicated or time-consuming
Most employees can be grouped by department, location, role and/or seniority. When you have a repeatable process with defined components it should only ever lead to one thing: automation.
User creation and deletion should be performed by the person closest to the task
As HR and department managers are aware of the major events in an employee’s lifecycle (getting a job, applying for leave, changing roles or leaving the business), they are best placed to perform timely user creation and deletion.
IT shouldn’t be a bottleneck
IT are frequently the last to know about a change in employee status, which leads to frustrating delays in onboarding and, in some instances, accounts not being disabled or deleted when a user leaves the organisation. They need to control the process but aren’t responsible for the timing and scheduling.

A solution was developed to address these pain points and make life a little easier for this Microsoft Engineer.
After sharing the solution within his network, he realised how many other businesses faced the same challenges. That’s when the solution began to evolve to leverage the Microsoft ecosystem.
